The wardrobe has a vast stock of costumes to fit you out if you are attending Goodwood Revival.

Items you might want to consider hiring from us
Ladies: Dress/Suit, hat, gloves, bag, shoes, fur stole/coat, jewellery, coat/jacket, skirt, blouse, trousers, knitwear.
Shoes – we do carry some stock of period shoes, if you wish to buy your own there are lots of sites that sell vintage replicas as an example: Memery.co.uk or Joebrowns.co.uk
Men: Suit, trousers, shirt, waistcoat, jacket, hat, shoes, gloves, overcoat, tie, knitwear.

To help speed up your appointment (1 hour for 1-2 people) please let us know what clothes size you consider yourself to be and if you can, your specific measurements. The majority of our collection of period specific clothes are vintage originals, this means waists tend to be narrower and lengths shorter than those of today, for example: ladies dresses/men’s RAF uniforms.

As we are so busy in the weeks running up to Goodwood we will be asking you to pay the hire fee and deposit at the time of your appointment. All items are priced individually, for a rough idea of our prices please see the price guide on or website; vintage originals sit at the top end of our price scales. The deposit starts at £100 and goes up incrementally as the hire fee rises, the deposit will be refunded to you on receipt of the costumes in condition they left the building.

What dates are you planning on collecting returning your costumes?We will ask you this at your appointment and ask for timings too. We hire in blocks of one week eg. Tues-Tues. The building is manned 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Please note that you can pick up/return on a Monday but the Wardrobe is open Tues-Fri so your deposit refund will not be processed till the Tuesday.

Condition all items are taken as seen. Please bear in mind that original items from the 40s/50s are 70-80 years old and therefore not in pristine condition and more delicate than brand new items. If you book your hire early we may have time to repair any small issues before your collection date but in the three weeks running up to Goodwood it is highly unlikely that we will have the time available to do this. We do not alter our costumes to fit.
